Crafting space is the practice of transformation of space through the use of the decorative and craft techniques – a practice used to create traditional architectural interiors.
This website page brings together a series of wall-based installations and sculptures inspired by abstract and decorative designs. Using stitching, looping and pinning, Dupré reconfigures repetitive patterns to creates site-specific works, commissions or ephemeral studio experimentation. These assemblages are made with familiar everyday objects (hair clips, make-up mirrors, bottle tops) and deconstructed woven and printed carrier bags.

To facilitate the viewer’s navigation, the installations have been grouped together under distinct headings:
îles flottantes et volants, screens (flowers), étoiles.
They can be viewed by clicking on the links.

The installations, shown here, are the main outcomes from the artist continuous experimentation in the studio and her responses to locations, exhibition sites commissions and residencies.
The installations are temporary assemblages of elements that through time are often reconfigured for play and investigation. So one must note that the proposed grouping should not be read a fixed categorisation.
